Support for the winner had gone west on his previous start at Lingfield where those drawn close to the rail enjoyed a huge advantage. On this occasion Hadden Frost brought Misaro down the centre of the course, while Bahamian Ballet's attempts to go up the far rail proved fruitless.
Trainer Ron Harris said: "The ground was much too loose for him at Lingfield and he had no chance from his wide draw. He used to blitz from the front, but Hadden now has the confidence to wait with him."
Bahamian Ballet must go down as a winner without a penalty. Race conditions were ideal for him and he was going best when intimidated into not being able to take a gap over 2f out. Taken back a stride and losing momentum, he was switched only to bump Desperate Dan when attempting to go through a narrow opening over 1f out. When getting clear he ate up the ground, but the winner had flown.
Desperate Dan was wanted in the market, but his tendency to find one too good manifested itself again. He kept on well, but lacked the continuation of pace at the finish to get the job done.
Harrison's Flyer proved the best of three runners from his stable, but could only stay on at one pace for a frame finish.
