Comments in running

Kerrys Requiem steadied start, soon pushed along in midfield, switched left over 1f out, stayed on well under pressure to lead towards finish

White Shift led and set fast pace, ridden 2f out, headed inside final furlong, kept on gamely to regain 2nd last stride

To The Point chased leader, headway to challenge 2f out, wanting to hang left after, led inside final furlong, headed and lost 2 places towards finish

Doughnut chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, edged left final furlong, no impression

Val De Flores always in last pair, struggling before halfway

Rapanui Belle always last and outpaced

Analyis of the race

No quarter given here and consequently a noteworthy time from some useful juveniles, strongly suggesting this was verging on Listed form.KERRYS REQUIEM struggled to go the pace set by White Shift, but getting all the allowances as a maiden against winners, she made it count and stayed on strongly to finally get on top near the line, befitting a filly bred to get a furlong or two more. As such, she could find more improvement but is going to be hard to place after this solid effort.

White Shift emerges the moral winner, setting the scorching pace and then rallying after looking well held in third into the last 100yds. She was far from disgraced in the Queen Mary from an unfavourable draw and deserves some Listed success this year.

Doughnut, who had a verdict over the winner and third, did not quite run up to form. She could never challenge and even if she did not have daylight to aim at, she hung badly left in the final 100yds and has not run to her best.

The other two were outclassed as expected.
