Viper made all, soon clear, 6 lengths 2 out, ridden before next, hit last, held on gamely
Cortinas took keen hold, held up in midfield, jumped right 2nd, headway before 3 out, chased winner after 2 out, hanging right and switched left before last, stayed on but never quite getting to winner
Ship´s Hill led main group, ridden after 3 out, disputed 2nd 2 out, closed under pressure last, no extra flat
Mango Catcher held up behind, headway on outer 3 out, modest 7th and ridden 2 out, kept on but never threatened leaders
Stagehand waited with in midfield, ridden and outpaced 3 out, modest 8th next, stayed on well under pressure before last, never troubled leaders
Top Achiever chased winner after 2nd, ridden before 3 out, weakened 2 out
Marrel raced off the pace in midfield, mistake 2nd, ridden and struggling before 3 out, no danger after
Royal Rationale took keen hold, held up towards rear, headway 5th, disputed 2nd and hit 2 out, soon weakened
Gallant Hero chased leader until after 2nd, jumped right 3rd, ridden and weakened 3 out
Temple Place held up in rear, slightly hampered 4th, never near leaders
Jacks Craic took keen hold, held up in midfield, ridden after 5th, well beaten next
Twist Bookie mistake 1st, held up in midfield, headway and mistake 5th, weakened next
Albarino took keen hold, held up in last, mistake 4th, ridden and lost touch before 3 out, tailed off
Ta Peshala held up in midfield, mistake 4th, ridden next, well beaten after 3 out, tailed off and pulled up last, dismounted
Cortinas could never quite get to the pacesetting winner on his handicap debut but it is possible things did not fall for him here and 120 does not look an exhorbitant mark so there is very chance he can go one better at some stage.
Mango Catcher is finding life a bit more difficult off his new mark.
Stagehand, pulled up last time, ran a bit better than his finishing position suggests and he might be up to winning before long.
