Sea Of Leaves soon steadied back into mid-division, headway and edged right 2f out, ran on to lead final 50yds
Raedah prominent, led well over 1f out, ridden and kept on, headed final 50yds
Our Wee Girl headway to lead after 1f, headed well over 1f out, one pace
Princess Hannah missed break and went left start, ran green and soon well behind, ridden and ran on encouragingly from 2f out, going on well at finish
Danzadil chased leaders, ridden 3f out, outpaced final 2f, beaten when edged right final furlong
Straitjacket took keen hold, chased leaders, ridden 2f out, weakened final furlong
Brer Rabbit slowly into stride and bumped start, behind, ridden halfway, never reached leaders
Piste started slowly, behind, some headway when not clear run on far rail and switched left over 1f out, unable to challenge
On The Feather in touch on far rail, not clear run inside final 2f, switched left and right, soon weakened
August Days led 1f, with leader until weakened 2f out
Goodenough Magic mid-division until ridden and weakened over 2f out
Paddock inspection suggested this was a better than average fillies' maiden and they went a decent pace thanks to Our Wee Girl trying to overcome her No.1 draw. That clearly did not suit the filly, who had failed to act over the Epsom 6f in the Woodcote. She deserves another chance under previous tactics of being produced from off the pace.
SEA OF LEAVES, one of the smaller in the field, looked beaten going to the final furlong but switched to the far rail, she picked up well to prove her debut run all wrong. Sporting a tongue-tie for the first time clearly helped and Jimmy Fortune felt she would benefit from another furlong now.
Princess Hannah, one of the scopier newcomers, was far too green to do herself justice but when the penny dropped in the final furlong, she stayed on eyecatchingly and should soon be winning.
Danzadil shaped with promise, showing speed, and Piste, who played up at the stalls, was staying on against the rail when havinglittle room and being switched sharply left to midtrack before staying on nicely.
The run was sure to bring on Brer Rabbit, who is another who should uphold the strength of the race and On The Feather, another to take the eye in the paddock, will be all the better for the run.
