Buster Hyvonen steadied after start, held up in last trio, smooth headway just over 2f out, stalked leader on bit over 1f out, cruised into lead inside final furlong, hard held
Jagger taken down early, held up in midfield, ridden and headway to lead 2f out, clear with winner 1f out, headed and no chance with winner inside final furlong
Cleaver raced wide, chased leaders, ridden and held head high over 2f out, pressed leaders 2f out, soon outpaced by leading pair
Apache Fort held up in touch, switched inside and headway over 2f out, every chance 2f out, soon outpaced by leading pair
Bold Adventure slowly into stride, held up behind, effort and hanging right 2f out, never near leaders
Birkspiel chased leader, upside leader and ridden well over 2f out, weakened well over 1f out
Dustoori chased leading pair, ridden to challenge over 2f out, weakened quickly well over 1f out
Mister Right took keen hold, held up in touch, ridden and effort well over 2f out, weakened well over 1f out, eased well inside final furlong
Awatuki led until ridden and headed 2f out, weakened rapidly, eased final furlong
Eva Soneva So Fast slowly into stride, behind, ridden and lost touch 4f out, tailed off and eased final furlong
The return to 1m4f was no problem to him, for he is not slow and had been racing as though 2m just stretched him, and James Fanshawe, who uses him as his hack, will consider him for the Old Newton Cup at Haydock before he embarks on a new career in novice chases in the autumn. It will be interesting to see what the Handicapper does with him, but it does not help that the first two pulled six lengths clear.
The marginback to third will not do Jagger any good either, which is unfortunate as he was just starting to look a bit better handicapped and would have been a very easy winner himself without Buster Hyvonen in the line-up.
Bold Adventure passed a few, but he was hanging right and well beaten.
The pacesetters Awatuki and Birkspiel both droppedright out to finish well beaten. Even more disappointing was favourite Dustoori. He had shaped all right on his debut for Ed Dunlop, but had disappointed on his final start for Godolphin last year after winning at Goodwood, and he does not look one to rely on.
Connections of Dustoori reported he was unsuited by the Polytrack.
Tom Queally reported Awatuki had no more to give.
