Whiskey Junction made all, ridden and quickened just over 2f out, held on gamely final furlong
Dvinsky took keen hold, chased leaders, effort on inner to chase winner 2f out, soon switched left, strong challenge final furlong, not quicken last 100yds
Sheriff´s Silk went left and bumped start, behind, ridden over 1f out, ran on strongly final furlong, not quite reach leading pair
Hucking Hill in touch in midfield, ridden and unable to quicken just over 1f out, stayed on under pressure final furlong
Steel City Boy chased leaders, ridden 2f out, kept on same pace after, lost 2 places well inside final furlong
Replicator held up in touch, effort and ridden 2f out, driven over 1f out, plugged on same pace
Spoof Master held up in rear, effort and ridden over 2f out, never threatened leaders
Adantino steadied after start, took keen hold, held up in rear, ridden over 1f out, no headway
Diriculous raced keenly, chased leader, hanging left bend halfway, hung badly left entering final furlong, eased when beaten inside final furlong
Dvinsky has a particularly good record here, but having got almost upsides the winner he could not get by and if anything was outbattled.
Outsider Sheriff's Silk, who had gained both of his wins in sellers over 7f on Southwell's more testing surface, raced at the back of the field and was still in last place inside the last two furlongs. He was flying at the end, finishing so fast that the winner would have struggled to have responded had he arrived a few strides earlier. In this sort of form he could well win a similar race when there is less emphasis on speed.
Top-weight Diriculous may have had a problem with his tack, as he was very keen early on and then proved unsteerable in the straight, where he was hanging left towards the stands' rail and his rider eventually stopped riding.
