Ahla Wasahl in touch, not clear run and switched left over 1f out, ridden to lead inside final furlong, ran on strongly
Deal Clincher pressed leader, ridden and unable to quicken 2f out, kept on under pressure final furlong
Today´s The Day in touch, slightly hampered over 1f out, switched right inside final furlong, flashed tail under pressure kept on
Sparkling Crystal in touch, ridden and effort on outer over 2f out, kept on under pressure final furlong, never going pace to trouble winner
Azwa led, ridden and quickened 2f out, headed inside final furlong, weakened rapidly last 100yds
Minor Vamp slowly into stride, in touch in rear, effort and ran green over 2f out, kept on but never troubled leaders
Polly´s Choice slowly into stride, took keen hold, held up in touch in rear, ridden just over 2f out, no impression
Innactualfact chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, edged left and weakened 2f out
Prima Fonteyn reared in stalls and very slowly away, always well behind
However, AHLA WASAHL was a convincing winner and looks the sort to go on again from here. Handily placed throughout on the inner, she needed switching off the rail to get past front-runner Azwa, and in doing so caused Today's The Day to be checked momentarily, but once she was out into the clear she quickly got the job done.
David Simcock thought she had run well at Doncaster on her debut, especially considering the soft ground would not have suited her, and he expects her to improve again. She will get 7f in due course, but she will stay at 6f for now.
Deal Clincher had looked ordinary in two previous starts and holds the form down, even allowing for some improvement here on her all-weather debut. She is qualified for a nursery mark now.
Bath second Sparkling Crystal made her effort up the outside, but while she was beaten only very narrowly for second she was never going to get to the winner.
The first four were clear of Azwa, who hadshown bags of speed and been clear still going into the final furlong. She may be better dropped back to 5f, although she weakened so quickly in the last half furlong that something might have been amiss here.
