Magroom held up in mid-division, headway over 2f out, ridden over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong

Cantique held up in mid-division, ridden over 1f out, no headway

Four of these were out of the handicap proper, and with one of those finishing fourth, the from of this run-of-the-mill handicap is nothing to get carried away about.

WAHOO SAM at least knows how to win as this was his 14th career success. He is better in on the turf than on the all-weather and that helped his cause here. However, he is not always the most consistent so he is not guaranteed to repeat the dose.

April Fool had won a race that has not worked out yet last time and he may have preferred the ground not so quick.

The Iron Giant has not won in 19 attempts.
