Lancaster Lad held up in mid-division, headway on outside over 4f out, led over 2f out, edged right over 1f out, ridden out
Fly In Johnny always prominent, ridden when slightly hampered and switched left just over 1f out, kept on inside final furlong
Ochenvay held up in rear, pushed along 3f out, headway on outside final furlong, finished well
Yakama slowly into stride, held up and behind, headway on inside over 2f out, ridden and switched right well over 1f out, kept on one pace inside final furlong
Charlie Be held up towards rear, headway 2f out, ridden over 1f out, one pace final furlong
Bewdley led, ridden and headed over 2f out, weakened inside final furlong
Daisy Nook soon chasing leader, every chance over 2f out, soon ridden, weakened final furlong
Poppy Red started slowly, held up, headway 4f out, ridden and weakened over 1f out
Les Allues started very slowly, in rear, ridden 2f out, no chance when not much room on inside inside final furlong
Fraamington held up and behind, not clear run and switched right over 2f out, soon ridden, no response
Whenineedyou held up in touch, lost place over 2f out, no chance when lost action and stumbled inside final furlong
LANCASTER LAD had failed to stay further in the past but this 1m trip proved about right as he got his head in front for the first time in 11 tries. Obviously he is no great shakes, but he could be the type who will jump a hurdle in the near future.
Fly In Johnny has had quite a few chances previously but he did not get the greatest of passages in the closing stages as he had to be switched around the winner. It showed that he gets amile and there might be one of these poor contests to come.
Yakama was not quite as exposed as someof this motley bunch but he looks ordinary.
