A strong breeze had the effect that it made the ground slicker and the jockey all considered it was very much on the fast side.

This class 5 juvenile maiden did not look a great heat on paper and it was won by BLUSHING MAID, the most experienced filly in the line-up as this was her fourth outing. Quite what the form is worth has to be open to some question as she had been well beaten last time but that was on softish ground and she relished these conditions and nurseries are probably her future.

Hail Promenader was sent off a short-priced favourite and was doing his work close home so on this evidence he will relish further. He should be found an opportunity to make amends in the near future.

Dalepak Flyer was beaten a fair way by the front three in the context of this race and ran much the same as he had done on his all-weather debut.
