Analyis of the race

This has proved a decent fillies' maiden over the years and the last three winners have all gone on to taste success in Pattern company. Whether this year's winner SAMARA VALLEY proves up to that class remains to be seen, but sheopened her account atthe second time of asking with a professional display and looks a filly capable building on this as she steps up in trip. She showed a decent attitude under pressure and looked to find this ground plenty quick enough, so the step up to another furlong oneasier ground now looks sure to bring about further improvement.

Rose Cheval, sixth on debut at Doncaster 17 days previously, showed the benefit of that experience and eventually fared the best of those to race mid-track. She got the extra furlongwell and is clearly going the right way.

Her stablemate Triple Cee, who cost 90,000 Euros, turned in an eyecatching debut effort, running on well inside the final furlong and doing more than enough to suggest she can be found an opening with this debut experience under her belt.

Key Signature, a 100,000gns purchase, knew her job yet paid for racing too freely through the early parts. She is bred to do better in time and should come on for the run.

Zaaqya cost 300,000gns and was representing the owner/trainer/jockey combination which had sent out the last two winners of this race. She proved easy to back for this debut and never really got into contention, looking green for most of the race. It is fair to expect better from her next time.

Give met some support in the betting ring, but proved unable build on her debut effort at Salisbury last time and failed to get home over the extra furlong.
