Foreign King made all, ridden clear well over 1f out, unchallenged
Hester Brook held up in touch, ridden and headway to go 2nd over 2f out, kept on but no chance with winner after
Shenandoah Girl held up in rear, headway on outside 2f out, ridden and stayed on to go 3rd inside final furlong
African Pursuits tracked leaders, ridden over 4f out, one pace final 2f
Makai took keen hold in mid-division, no headway final 2f
Bothar Brugha unruly before start and reared up leaving stalls, behind until effort on outside over 3f out, soon beaten
Drombeg Pride tracked winner until ridden and weakened quickly over 2f out
Our Glenard slowly away, always behind, eased over 1f out
The field fanned out into the final 2f but never looked like troubling Foreign King, who was well on top inside the final furlong, extending his lead at the finish. He has been dropped a few pounds but much will depend how the handicapper sees this ultimately clearcut win as this looks his level.
Hester Brook travelledwell through the race, did not find as much as looked likely into the final 2f, but still clung on to second as Shenandoah Girl, held together at the back for a late challenge, could only edge closer down the midtrack outside of the field along with Bothar Brugha, who ran a shade better than the bare form, although he does not look the most straightforward. He played up going to post and then completely missed the break. Threatening for a place, he was held into the final 100 yards to accentuate his beating.
