Zaarmit has been called a few names in his three previous races and was very green, all over the place running downhill as he was pulled widest midtrack to challenge. He then hung left as many do on this track but still ran down his rival as he grabbed the ground uphill in the last 100 yards, having nearly two lengths to make up. He has a rating which is right on a banding threshold and probably did not need to run to that to win this.
Nothing else threatened, although Bye Baby Bunting travelled well in front, showing good speed until weakening into the final furlong but still holding third.
Sweet Refrain was reported to have lost her action.
