THEMWERETHEDAYS, who had reportedly moved badly on his two previous outings on turf, appreciated this return to the all-weather but was inclined to run in snatches and then edged left under pressure in the closing stages. He did just enough to win, but the real test for him will come now when he reverts to handicapping and has to justify a mark of 70.
Scary Movie, whose best run to date had been a fourth of 12 in a 1m Bath maiden, has a current rating of 65 and probably ran to that mark. He can do better when he learns to settle.
