Bertbrand always prominent, led over 1f out, ridden and hung right final furlong, ran on
Copperbottomed held up, headway and hung right over 2f out, ridden over 1f out, stayed on same pace final furlong
Blue Zenith chased leaders, led over 2f out, ridden and headed over 1f out, no extra inside final furlong
Valhillen chased leaders, not clear run over 2f out, ridden over 1f out, stayed on
Bahamarama chased leaders, lost place over 4f out, headway under pressure over 1f out, no impression final furlong
Flying Seasons held up, ridden over 2f out, hung left from over 1f out, never dangerous
Cherished Song led, headed over 3f out, ridden and weakened over 2f out
Jimmy Dean with leader until led over 3f out, headed over 2f out, ridden and weakened over 1f out
BERTBRAND was dropped to this class for the first time after struggling in handicaps recently and, despite going right in the straight, he always looked the winner from the home turn.
Copperbottomed, who had won a weak seller here last time, confirmed form from that race with Bahamarama but did not look the easiest of rides on this occasion, hanging right on the home turn and then tending to go left under pressure in the straight.
