Something of a bunched finish to confirm the poor quality of this fillies' contest. SARABA, oldest in the field and by admission from connections the craftiest, was cajoled home, but as her overall record reveals, she cannot be trusted to reproduce it.
Connections reported the winner needs taking to different courses as a return to old hunting grounds often results in below-par efforts and she has raced over a variety of trips - she was dropping back from 2m for this.
Neve Lieve stayed stands' side in the lead into the last three furlongs as the two principals ended mid-track, and the way she plugged on suggests she might get a bit further.
Politeia was disappointing as she was pushed along towards the back off the home turn, and switching wide mid-track to get daylight, made a brief effort into the last two furlongs before her run flattened out in the final furlong.
Spectrana refused to go down with the rest and was finally taken round the long route down the back straight and failed to run her race.
