Nice Matin slowly into stride, flashed tail throughout, held up in touch towards rear, headway over 2f out, chased leader over 1f out, led inside final furlong, ran on
Emirates Lady slowly into stride, chased leaders after 1f, led 5f out, edged right over 1f out, headed and unable to quicken inside final furlong
St Trinians very slowly away, in touch in rear, headway on inner 2f out, kept on steadily, went 3rd well inside final furlong, not reach leading pair
Paradise Island in touch towards rear, ridden just over 2f out, headway over 1f out, kept on same pace final furlong
Shindy chased leaders, went 2nd 2f out until over 1f out, kept on one pace final furlong
Citron Presse chased leaders, ridden just over 2f out, weakened entering final furlong
Russian Empress chased leader until 2f out, weakened under pressure over 1f out
Virginias Best slowly into stride, took keen hold, soon well in touch in midfield, ridden 2f out, soon weakened
Rahaan led on outer until 5f out, chased leaders after until weakened 2f out
Savanna´s Gold in touch towards rear on outer, some headway over 3f out, struggling and behind over 2f out
Miss Riviera Chic slowly into stride, in touch in midfield until ridden and lost place 3f out, tailed off and eased final furlong
NICE MATIN lost a lot of ground and flashed her tail throughout, but she was close enough running down into the home turn and saved ground sticking to the inner. The tail swishing was all the more pronounced under pressure, but she kept running on.
James Toller admitted she is not straightforward (she ran without back shoes as she does not like blacksmiths), but he felt that there was not much between her and stablemate Shindy, who was a close third here last year and finished a fair fifth here after racing handily throughout.
St Trinians is well named, as she misbehaved in the preliminaries and again down at the start. She was the slowest starter by someway and raced at the rear of the pack before running on into a respectable third.
Paradise Island ran respectably in fourth and is now qualified for a mark. Citron Presse looks one of the stable's lesser lights.
