Prince Picasso ran a perfectly respectable race. Held up early, he made good ground to track the leaders turning in and appeared to be travelling like a winner. When the winner went past him, though, he couldn't immediately respond but kept on quite well. Trying to give a stone to this winner was just asking too much.
Short-priced favourite, Darenjan ran a strange race. He didn't jump particularly well and after a slow jump at the fourth last he dropped right back through the field and looked as though he was going to be pulled up. In the end though he ran on again from the second last to be beaten just over three lengths.
All Roads Lead was held up in rear and never was able to get into a challenging position, while his stable companion Whatsabillion had put himself into contention with a good jump four out before unseating his rider at the next flight. [JOH]
