Song In My Heart soon led, strongly pressed final furlong, stayed on well, all out
Pretty Ballerina chased leaders, ridden in 5th approaching straight, 3rd under 2f out, stayed on well in 2nd inside final furlong, just failed
Alaneed tracked leaders, 3rd approaching straight, 2nd under 2f out, hung in behind leader from over 1f out, soon no impression in 3rd
Rose Rouge mid-division, 6th approaching straight, ridden to go 4th under 2f out, soon no impression and kept on same pace
Red Key prominent, ridden in 2nd approaching straight, lost place and no impression from under 2f out
Countess Petrushka ridden early and soon trailing, kept on without threatening straight
Langkawi Breeze soon tracked leaders, ridden in 4th approaching straight, no impression from 2f out
Freely Given towards rear, moderate 10th approaching straight, soon no danger
Rachel´s Rocket mid-division, dropped to moderate 8th approaching straight, soon no impression
The Best Dub towards rear, moderate 9th approaching straight, soon no impression
Donnabhain prominent early, dropped to moderate 7th approaching straight, soon no extra
Pretty Ballerina came back here to something akin to her very good early season form from last year. Racing handily on the inner most of the way, she was tapped for tactical speed and dropped back a few lengths turning in but picked up well on the outside over a furlong out and ran all the way to the line. Her margin of defeat may have been slightly flattering but there's no questioning her improvement.
Blinkers were fitted first time here on Alaneed, and they didn't produce any dramatic improvement. Tracking the lead, he travelled well in the slipstream of the winner turning in, but when asked to challenge, he hung in behind and never looked likely to go past.
Red Key was prominent and closed up to briefly chase the winner after halfway before weakening early in the straight.
There was some promise shown by Countess Petrushka, who was slowly away, trailing and totally outpaced for the first halfof the race before keeping on through beaten horses to be nearest at the finish. [JOH]
