A first career win for YOUNG JEMMY, who was contesting his first handicap in what ultimately proved a luckless race for favourite backers. The winner had run consistently, reaching the frame three times in five starts, and he responded well to pressure from his unfavourable draw to get his head in front, certainly appreciating this quick ground.

Runner-up Herbert Crescent made nice progress approaching the straight but didn't help either the favourite, First In Line, or Darraghs Day when coming across them in the straight. This hinted at a return to the sort of form that saw him win a Curragh nursery off a 3lb lower mark last October.

Chevie ran well under a big weight following his Killarney maiden win over two weeks ago, while OasisDavis was doing his best work in the closing stages on his first run back for 215 days. This was his first run over this longer trip and connections have good reason to be pleased with his performance.

Kalinka Malinka and Dragon Lady came into contact when the race was on, which did their chances no favours, while Fleeting Moment was another to suffer some interference in what proved a rough race for many.

The winner's stable companion Archmani, who didn't look happy when loaded, left the stalls without her rider.
