Behrusi led for 6f, led again 7f out, ridden over 2f out, kept on final furlong

Naturally Inspired in rear, ridden and outpaced 5f out, stayed on inside final 2f to go 2nd close home

Easy Dancer took keen hold, held up in touch, went 2nd over 3f out, ridden over 1f out, no extra and lost 2nd close home

So Extreme tracked leader, led after 6f, headed 7f out, ridden 3f out, weakened 2f out

Imstilldreaming in touch until ridden 3f out, soon weakened

Little Dibber in touch, ridden 5f out, weakened 3f out

A typical summer bumper. BEHRUSI had progressed from his debut to run better last time and seems to be going the right way in the context of the race. He looked sure to be picked up by the eventual third off the home bend, but stuck on stoutly. Whether he is up to defying a penalty, though, is debatable.

Naturally Inspired looked the first beaten at the bottom of the hill, but she stayed on well off the home turn and may well have won in another furlong or so, but she had been well beaten in her two previous attempts.
