HERNE BAY had done all his winning on flat courses like Stratford and Uttoxeter, but he handled the undulations here very well to win for the first time at 3m. He had finished behind the runner-up last time out, but easily reversed those placings here and there did not seem to be any fluke about it. Fast ground seems important to him.
Belledesaro was well out of the handicap proper, which casts something of a cloud over the bare form as she has not shown a lot in the past.
Mysaynoway has yet to win under rules, while Or Sing About was very disappointing and something might well have been amiss as he was eventually pulled up.
