Dancewiththedevil held up in rear, smooth headway approaching 3 out, led flat, ridden out
Mendip Dane chased leader until after 2nd, went 2nd again 4th, led approaching 3 out, ridden and hung left approaching 2 out, hung right and headed flat, no extra
Wood Fern held up in mid-division, not fluent 3rd, headway 5th, chased winner 3 out to 2 out, weakening when jumped left last
Perfect Storm held up in rear, headway on inside after 5th, weakened after 2 out
Dr Dream held up towards rear, mistake and reminders 4th, stayed on flat, never dangerous
Limit took keen hold in mid-division, short-lived effort approaching 3 out
Springwood Lady held up in touch, weakened 4th
Powers And Soda led until approaching 3 out, soon ridden and weakened
Where´s Arnie held up in touch, ridden and weakened after 5th, tailed off
Fortuitous prominent, chased leader after 2nd, not fluent 3rd, not fluent and lost 2nd 4th, ridden and weakened after 5th, tailed off
Sun Quest took keen hold, always towards rear, pulled up and dismounted before 2 out
Runner-up b\Mendip Dane is another maiden point-to-pointer, confined to trips below 3m this year which suggests stamina limitations in that field, and he was making his debut under rules after switching to the champion trainer. He showed ahead entering the straight but looked less than straightforward under pressure and was readily cut down after the last.
Perfect Storm, the pick of the field in official figures, was found wanting in the first-time cheekpieces.
Dr Dream was under pressure at the back of the field by halfway and only consented to run on when the race was all over. He has a mind of his own.
Limit, who had the tongue- tie refitted, found next to nothing when coming off the bridle.
