Not the greatest handicap chase but STAR OF GERMANY, who had only won a selling chase last time, went in again and could be named the winner from some way out. He got in here off a 7lb penalty but is due to go up another 7lb from the weekend so he was effectively quite well treated. Connections are going to have to get him out again fairly quickly as the handicapper will not be slow in raising him for this wide-margin success.

Past Heritage had only won in selling company over hurdles and thatwas two and a half years ago, so the best he could hope for was to chase home the winner from a respectable distance.

Wild Power has always been hard to get right but looks impossible these days.

Popcorn Rosie does not seem to have prospered for a hard race two runs back as she has now proved very disappointing the last twice.
