Analyis of the race
Very few of these could be given any realistic chance on previous exploits and it went the way of LEO'S LUCKY STAR who had decent prospects on official figures. He has showed improved form now that he is being ridden more patiently and, though he hadto battle on the long run-in, he was always just holding the runner up. He is the type his trainer does quite well with over the summer and there might well be other races in him.
Cavallini once again filled the runner-up spot but as he and the winner came well clear the form is solid enough in the context of this obviously average heat.
Petito actually came out on top on official ratings but whether he is worth his mark on what he has actually achieved as he went up 8lb for falling last time.
Rapid Pete, fitted with a tongue-tie for the first time, was not disgraced on his first try over hurdles and may benefit for the experience.
