They did at least go a strong pace which appeared to suit MISTRAL DE LA COUR, who was third at the last fence and stayed on to lead halfway up the long run-in - which was over 2f for this race as the usual final obstacle was taken out. He was one of those to have gotten himself well handicapped after a poor spell and he will remain on a decent mark after reassessment so will have to be kept in mind.
Red Dawn deserves plenty of credit as he set a strong pace and had enough left to repel all bar the winner on the run-in. This confirmed that his previous fine third from out of the handicap was no flash in the pan. He looks to have improved for a switch to forcing tactics and could go one place better in poor company.
True Temper ran respectably but is an exposed 11-year-old. Ravenscar has still to recapture his best form.
