Envisage tracked leaders, effort over 3f out, hard ridden and stayed on to lead close home
Kaateb tracked leaders, bumped and led well inside final furlong, headed final strides
Detonator led, edged right and headed well inside final furlong, no extra
Peruvian Prince in rear, effort over 2f out, kept on, never near leaders
Veiled Applause mid-division, headway to chase leaders 4f out, one pace final 2f
Persian Peril tracked leaders, effort over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
Dium Mac awkward to load, steadied start, headway on outside 6f out, lost place 2f out
Abydos held up in rear, brief effort over 2f out, soon lost place
Fantastic Morning tracked leaders, lost place 3f out, soon behind
Detonator, who had hacked up in a 1m maiden at Wolverhampton last November but had not been seen since, was facing a stiffish task on this handicap debut and turned in a decent effort under apositive ride. He is entitled to come on for the race, and should soon be winning off his present mark.
