Actabou made all, ridden 2f out, driven entering final furlong and stayed on gamely towards finish
Royal Acclamation prominent, effort 2f out, ridden to challenge over 1f out, driven inside final furlong and every chance until not quicken towards finish
Strawberry Moon tracked leaders, headway on outer well over 1f out, ridden to challenge inside final furlong, not quicken last 100yds
Filligree close up, ridden and every chance over 1f out, driven and one pace inside final furlong
Moonage Daydream chased leaders on outer, ridden along 2f out, driven and one pace inside final furlong
Infinity Bond tracked leaders, headway over 1f out, ridden and not much room entering final furlong, one pace
Horatio Carter dwelt, held up, headway 2f out, soon ridden and not much room inside final furlong, kept on
Legendary Guest held up in rear, headway 2f out, ridden along over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong
Dolly No Hair chased leaders, ridden along halfway, soon weakened
Certainly ACTABOU had the run of the race, soon in front, making all and holding on well. So this may not represent quite the improvement on recent efforts that it first appears, though he had certainly slipped to a lowly mark and obviously has the speed to make him worthy of consideration in these sort of conditions.
Royal Acclamation, a winner at Catterick earlier in the month, ran another good race off a 5lb higher mark, always to the fore, as was Strawberry Moon, the least exposedrunner in the line-up who made an encouraging switch to handicaps, and hat-trick-seeking Filligree, who was not at all disgraced under a 6lb penalty.
