McQueen had been out of form but unquestionably had the run of the race here, soon in front and dominating throughout until worn down inside the final 1f. Let It Be may be a better yardstick, having won this race twice in the past and having looked to be coming to hand, and her effort suggests the winner remains ahead of the handicapper, keeping on for a creditable third place.
Able Dara confirmed the smidgeon of improvement he had shown on his previous start, while Wulimaster moved up briefly into second place in the straight but could not maintain his effort - he is better in less exacting company.
