Summon Up Theblood prominent, headway over 3f out, led over 1f out, ridden clear
Underworld led, ridden over 2f out, headed over 1f out, kept on, not pace of winner
Slam pulled hard early, close up, effort over 2f out, soon one pace
Midnight Muse held up, shaken up over 2f out, kept on final furlong, never reached leaders
Points Of View prominent, driven over 2f out, kept on same pace
Bere Davis midfield, driven 3f out, kept on final furlong, not pace to challenge
Traphalgar tracked leaders until ridden and outpaced from over 2f out
Oasis Wind held up, ridden over 2f out, never dangerous
Hold The Gold behind, driven over 3f out, never on terms
Jim Martin took keen hold in rear, ridden and struggling from 3f out
Underworld set the tempo at a moderate gallop but never really looked like shaking off the winner. Up 15lb since his last appearance three months ago, he was well beaten but in turn came a long way clear of the third and should not be written off yet.
Slam came there with every chance at the two-pole but was soon under the pump. He wasn't knocked about when held late on on this handicap debut.
Points Of View may just have needed this and kept on without striking a serious blow. He is another worth keeping on the right side.
This was a tough ask for Bere Davis but he was running on at the finish. He has been running well and could do with a change of luck.
