Dnata Flyer chased leaders, ridden along and hung left over 2f out, staying on when switched right entering final furlong, driven and led last 50yds
Forrest Star took keen hold, led, joined 3f out, ridden 2f out, hung left entering final furlong, headed and no extra last 50yds
Ride A White Swan tracked leaders, headway on bit and close up halfway, ridden 2f out and every chance until driven and one pace approaching final furlong
Jevington Star in rear, headway on outer over 2f out, soon ridden and stayed on inside final furlong, not reach leaders
Low Flyer chased leaders, ridden along well over 2f out, soon weakened
Princess Rhianna held up, always towards rear
Ceduna Roadhouse always in rear
Distant Rock tracked leaders, headway over 3f out, ridden over 2f out, soon driven and weakened
DNATA FLYER had one bit of form which suggested he could play a part here but early in the straight it did not look as if he would be able to get in a serious blow. But Royston Ffrench kept persevering and his mount kept responding and he stayed on to win with nothing to spare. That earlier bit of form had been over 6f, but on this evidence he wants further than the 7f he tackled here.
Forrest Star was clear of the third and only caught in the closing stages. It did seem that she did not quite see out the trip.
Jevington Star, 1lb out of the handicap, stayed on in the closing stages but never looked capable of getting there.
The longer trip did not appear to help Distant Rock but it is not yet easy to put up an ideal distance for her.
