Joshua's Gold, who ran well over hurdles last time, ran his best race on the level this term. He could not cope with the winner butwas clear of the third and seven furlong and mile are his forte.
A return to his favourite track saw Attacca run his best race of five this season.
There was some money for Beaumont Boy but he was never able to get in a serious blow.
Shunkawakhan was involved in some bunching on the inner and when switched he was one paced. He has yet to win on Turf but has good form on the all weather.
Royal Challenge and Shunkawakhan were reported to have been denied clear runs.
