Calzaghe held up in touch, headway to chase winner over 1f out, kept on, no impression final furlong
Summer Soul prominent, driven and outpaced 3f out, rallied over 1f out, no impression
Jordan´s Light took keen hold, chased winner, ridden over 2f out, no extra and lost 2nd over 1f out
Kyber close up, stumbled badly after 3f, outpaced over 2f out, no danger after
FORREST FLYER had things his own way right from the start and was allowed to draw clear at will. He gallops and stays and finally lost his maiden tag under new tactics.
Calzaghe was anchored last of all and stuck on although he was never a threat to the winner. This wasn't run to suit and, though not an easy ride, he needs a much stronger gallop.
Even with a dawdle on up front, Jordan's Light ran out of steam and is ideally suited by a stronger pace over a shorter trip.
Last year's winner Kyber stumbled badly turning out of the paddock bend after 3f. He was another not suited by the slow pace.
