This was a big change for TITFER, who has been running over further on soft ground, so no surprise he raced prominently here and just outstayed his rivals, one of four to come widest up the straight with all four edging right under pressure.
He is lightly raced and connections are obviously still feeling their way with him, so there might be a smidgeon of improvement, but he has struggled off higher marks.
Charming Tale came widest and plugged on to look the likelier winner on this handicap debut. Fitted with first-time blinkers, she did little wrong, enjoying this sound surface to suggest an imminent win at this level.
The Willowy Widgeon led home the inside rail pack and never saw the wingers, looking to idle in front of her rivals. Given something to race with, she would have been closer.
Metal Madness was not disgraced under his big weight, finishing on the heels of the outside four.
Star Pattern gave them fully four lengths start when slowly away and edging right. He was staying on strongly without threatening, showing his liking for this sounder surface and suggesting another furlong or two will suit.
Rampant Ronnie was also keeping on up the inside rail without threatening as he took a big drop in trip.
