Tomintoul Flyer tracked leaders, gap appeared 2f out and shaken up to challenge over 1f out, trying to hang but led last 150yds and soon clear
Reclamation led, kicked on over 2f out, headed 1f out, kept on but easily outpaced by winner
Ocean Legend pressed leader to 4f out, renewed effort on inner to challenge over 1f out, narrow lead 1f out, soon headed and faded
Hilbre Court bolted nearly a mile on way to post, took keen hold, held up in midfield, progress and ridden over 2f out, very wide bend soon after, one pace under pressure
City Of The Kings held up well in rear, last over 2f out, some progress over 1f out, not clear run briefly 1f out, kept on, never nearer
Martyr held up towards rear, shaken up 2f out, some progress over 1f out but never on terms
Cuban Missile held up in midfield, ridden over 2f out, no impression over 1f out, weakened
Rowan Rio held up well in rear, some progress on inner over 2f out, struggling over 1f out
Bushy Dell mostly raced wide, held up, always well in rear
Jadaara took keen hold, tracked leading pair, challenged for 2nd 3f out, wide bend 2f out and weakened
Port Quin held up and always well in rear, weakened rapidly 2f out, tailed off
The market spoke bundles for Tomintoul Flyer and the race was run to suit with Reclamation and Ocean Legend setting a strong but sensible pace. Cornering on the coat-tails of this pair, Ted Durcan's mount ran around a touch when taking their measure but was nevertheless a decisive scorer.
Reclamation had scored on her handicap debut but was lumbered with an 8lb rise that proved too much. She seemed to enjoy the extra yardage and there was no disgrace in this defeat.
Hilbre Court has raced exclusively on sand. His handicap mark is perhaps a shade high but after getting beaten this far he could well get a little respite.
City Of The Kings is another who suffered for doing well at the end of his juvenile season, getting punished for two successes. This was a bit more encouraging than his comeback effort.
