Accompanist steadied start and dropped in from wide draw, held up in last pair, no chance from 2f out, stayed on from over 1f out

Uig held up in rear, ridden and struggling 3f out, plugged on from over 1f out

Ryedale Ovation dwelt, held up in rear, never on terms and no chance final 2f

Happy As Larry chased clear leading pair over 2f out, soon weakened

Stargazer Jim prominent in chasing group, no impression 3f out, weakened soon after 2f out

Tinnarinka raced freely, led to halfway, chased winner until weakened well over 1f out

Touch Of Style chased leading pair, hit rail after 2f, soon lost place, behind 3f out, virtually pulled up final 2f

This was run at a cracking pace and the instructions for Jack Mitchell to kick on aboard PRIME NUMBER paid handsome dividends with a clear-cut success.

John Akehurst takes the view that his grey is better going flat out over a mile and a quarter and those tactics always looked like paying off after Prime Number shrugged off the attentions of free-going Tinnarinka entering the home straight. The winner went around ten lengths clear, and though coming back to the staying-on Show Winner, never lookedlike surrendering his advantage. It was a wide margin back to Arteju in third.
