Finnegan McCool chased clear leaders, closed from halfway, ridden to lead just over 1f out, stayed on well, readily
My Sweet Georgia dwelt, held up in midfield, progress when not clear run briefly just over 2f out, chased winner final furlong, closed but never able to challenge
Like For Like raced freely, made most to just over 1f out, one pace
Snoqualmie Girl started slowly, pushed along in last and well off the pace, stayed on encouragingly final 2f, nearest finish
Barnezet towards rear, effort on outer halfway, some progress but hung left from 2f out, weakened final furlong
Louie´s Lad chased clear leading pair to halfway, edged left soon after, faded over 1f out
Mr Willis dwelt, never beyond midfield or on terms with leaders, faded over 1f out
One Cool Quest dwelt, always outpaced in last pair
Applehays with leader to halfway, weakened rapidly, tailed off
The winner was content to bide his time and willingly took command just over a furlong out from early leaders Applehays and Like For Like.
His trainer Ralph Beckett thinks he'll be effective at six furlongs but could let him loose in the Super Sprint over five.
My Sweet Georgia was a heavily backed favourite and had every chance, only to meet a better rival on the day. This was a drop in grade for her but there seemed no obvious excuse.
Snoqualmie Girl was easy to back. A close relative of the smart middle-distance horse Snoqualmie Boy, she shaped with a certain amount of promise and needs further.
