Willow Dancer held up well in rear, progress on outer from 3f out, ridden to chase winner just over 1f out, kept on but no impression
Aggravation held up well in rear, progress on outer over 2f out, stayed on to take 3rd final furlong, never able to challenge
Australia Day free to post, raced freely, made most to over 1f out, soon outpaced, hanging left but kept on
Rambling Light tracked leading pair, eased off rail to try to challenge well over 1f out, not quicken and beaten final furlong
Effigy dwelt, rousted up to midfield soon after start, ridden 3f out, outpaced over 1f out
Last Sovereign held up in midfield, not quicken when short of room just over 2f out, no progress after
Bivouac free to post, took keen hold, held up in midfield, no progress when bumped 2f out
Master Mahogany always in midfield, ridden and no progress 2f out, eased when no chance inside final furlong
Robert The Brave soon detached in last, no progress until passed weakening rivals final furlong
Le Chiffre tracked leading pair, losing place and beaten when bumped 2f out
Danski with leader to just over 2f out, weakening quickly when bumped around soon after
Border Edge always well in rear, ridden and no progress 3f out
Namid Reprobate free to post, started slowly, held up in last pair, never a factor, eased when no chance final furlong
The odds-on winner has raced almost exclusively at Windsor and looks certain to appreciate a longer distance.
His pedigree strongly suggests he will improve with age, so the problems which restricted his movements at two and three could feasibly end up being a blessing in disguise.
Moore reported thecolt found the ground too fast, while his purchaser Charlie Gordon-Watson said: "Ed Dunlop had a lot of problems with him as a two-year-old and he ran only once at three. He's a close relative of Nayyir and could be one of those typical Indian Ridge's that keep getting better as they get older."
Aggravation and Australia Day ran more or less as was the case when they were beaten by Dear Maurice here last week.
Aggravation managed to turn the tables as he confirmed his liking for this track, where he's a three-time winner.
Australia Day could well have seen more daylight than ideal. A hard-pulling sort, he was in contention throughout but had clearly used up his resources in the final furlong.
His stablemate Robert The Brave improved on last month's poor run on turf to finish just out of the money, and appears to be improving.
