Miss Firefly with leader, led 3f out, ridden and headed just over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong

Swift Acclaim led 3f, ridden and weakened well over 1f out

Arrabiata slowly into stride, behind, ridden well over 1f out, never near leaders

Red Amaryllis chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, soon weakened

Elizabeth´s Quest stumbled slightly start, soon mid-division, ridden over 2f out, weakened 1f out

River N´ Blues mid-division, ridden over 1f out, soon edged left and struggling

Marysedge prominent, pushed along over 2f out, weakened well over 1f out

Alabama Spirit hampered start, never going well, always in rear

There was a messy start, with Romantic Verse going sharply right and interfering with LEONID GLOW and Alabama Spirit.

The last-named never recovered, but Leonid Glow made up her ground quite readily on the inner in the straight and, though she only won by a neck, she gave the impression that there was a bit more in the tank and this lightly raced filly should be able to find more races this summer.

Pretty Bonnie, who has changed stables since last season, had been a springer in the market on her reappearance at Bath early this month but faded out of contention late on. She sustained her challenge much better on this occasion and could be about to strike.

Romantic Verse, very awkward out of the stalls, was a 7f winner last season and she appeared to find this 6f on the sharp side. She was keeping on well enough at the finish and her respectable third suggests she is fully competitive off her current mark and could soon be winning again back over a longer trip.

Miss Firefly, not on her best behaviour on the way to post, showed plenty of dash on her debut for Ron Hodges (had been claimed out of Mick Channon's race at Bath last month) but ran out of pep in the final furlong.
