Chapter held up and behind, ridden and headway on outside when hung left 2f out, no impression final furlong
Princely Ted held up in touch, ridden over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong
General Flumpa led, ridden and headed just over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong
Converti held up towards rear, some headway over 5f out, ridden and weakened well over 3f out
Heartsanddiamonds pulled hard, prominent until weakened over 3f out
Take A Mile slowly into stride, held up, headway on outside over 5f out, weakened 4f out
Monash Lad took keen hold early, always towards rear
'KOKKOKILA settled without a problem and, though reportedly hating the firmish ground, responded well to pressure in the straight to gain a hard-earned win.
She was confirming recent Goodwood placings with Songmaster and General Flumpa (who was one of those who fought for his head) and, as this was only her seventh race, there should be further improvement to come. Connections reckon she willbe seen to best effect at around 1m6f on easy going.
Barbirolli turned in a fair effort in third, but he has never been an easy horse to win with (two victories from 45 starts) and that is unlikely to change at this stage of his career.
