Matters At Hand tracked leaders, moderate 4th halfway, 2nd entering straight, closer in 3rd under 2f out, challenged when squeezed up over 1f out, soon stayed on to 2nd, not reach winner
Ard Fheis chased leaders, moderate 5th halfway, ridden in 4th 2f out, no extra 1 1/2f out, kept on same pace

In first-time blinkers, Matters At Hand ran very well and it looks only a matter of time before he loses his maiden tag. Racing prominently in the chasing group, he ran on to challenge over a furlong out but had been just overhauled when the winner drifted left and squeezed him up between horses. He was beaten by a better horse on the day.
Street Legal needs one more run for a handicap mark but looks a horse good enough to win a maiden. Held up early, he was never close enough to challenge but kept on well inside the last to be nearest at the finish.
Perihelion isn't one of the stars at Ballydoyle but was there in a pacemaking role today and did her job very well. Shewas still clear turning in and stayed there until headed inside the final two furlongs and played a less fortunate role as well by acting as the other half of the sandwich in which the runner-up was squeezed into which might have cost her fourth place. She now qualifies for a handicap mark. [JO'H]
