| DESERT ABBEY was entitled to end her losing streak, and duly obliged. Given a patient ride from Andrew Leigh, the six-year-old daughter of Presenting crept into contention turning into the straight and, following a good jump at the second-last, took up the running on the approach to the final hurdle. Despite an awkward leap at the final flight, she still had plenty of gears to hold off the challenge of the always prominent Ringned, with Happy Reunion powering home late on to finish third. Winning connections are looking at the Galway Festival, with an outing in a novice hurdle likely to be on the cards before then. The first three horses all look worthy of note as Happy Reunion put up a much improved effort following a recent Flat outing.
