Springfield Gunner led until 6f out, kept on to take 2nd over 2f out, stayed on final furlong, not reach winner
Tom O´Tara prominent, outpaced when carried wide and lost place bend 8f out, kept on final 3f to take modest 3rd close home
Miss Carroll tracked leaders, took keen hold, went handy 2nd 5f out, soon ridden, weakened over 2f out, lost 3rd near line
Hirijan held up in rear, outpaced 7f out, hung left and soon lost place and behind
Spring Heel Jack held up in rear, headway and prominent after 5f, lost place over 5f out, tailed off 3f out
Bon Chance Mon Ami took fierce hold, joined leaders after 4f, hung left, ran wide bend and lost place 8f out, soon tailed off, pulled up 6f out
Analyis of the race
This was a modest bumper run and it was run at a slow pace to halfway.
GALAPAGOS ISLANDS made a winning debut, racing in touch and being driven clear in the straight. He may improve on this, but could struggle with a penalty.
Springfield Gunner made the running, was headed, but stuck on quite well on the straight. This was his third run, and he's shown only modest form, but he may fare better over hurdles.
