FRESCHEZZA, who had been keen on her recent hurdles debut at Towcester, benefited from the good pace and her stamina came into play in the closing stages, enabling her to gain a hard-earned win. She shouldbe all the better for the experience and will get further.
Present, a winning plater on the Flat, had managed a couple of thirds in nine previous outings over hurdles but was below her best at Fakenham last time, where she hung right throughout. She bounced back to form here but just found herself run out of it close home.
Photogenique looked the likely winner three out, but this was her first outing in 11 months and that may have found her out in the closing stages.
Bukhara was the subject of good market support on his first run since joining David Wintle from France, but could not sustainhis effort from the home turn, while Dasher Reilly did too much in a first-time visor and paid for it in the straight.
