Humid Climate reluctant to leave collecting area and led riderless to start, chased clear leader to 5th, lost place 6th, rallied approaching 2 out, led approaching last, drew clear flat, ran on well
Spiritual Society led, soon clear, ridden and headed approaching last, soon beaten
Oldrik held up, mistake 1st, behind 7th, ridden 3 out, stayed on from 2 out, never dangerous
Wild Power held up in mid-division, headway after 6th, chased leader approaching 8th to 2 out, soon weakened
Daraybad held up and behind, headway 8th, ridden when jumped right 2 out, soon weakened
Albarino in rear when slipped badly 1st, never near leaders
Laoch Dubh pulled hard, soon prominent, chased leader from 5th until approaching 8th, ridden and weakened after 3 out
Haunted House held up and behind, mistake 7th, soon struggling
HUMID CLIMATE, a one-time decent handicapper on the Flat, managed to land his first race over jumps in 22 attempts. He raced off the mark of a seller but could not really be faulted about the way he did it, even though this was a poor contest.
Now he seems to have regained his former confidence he could be on a very handy mark, and it would not be a great surprise if he managed to follow up.
Oldrik has really had enough chances now and is undoubtedly frustrating. There did not seem to be any excuses and he has a question mark over him now.
Wild Power is essentially well exposed these days.
