Analyis of the race

This looked a decent handicap, as it was designed to be, and it provided another brick in the wall in the career of MUSAALEM, who completed a hat-trick of wins. Having previously scored over 7f, and raced keenly, he was dropped back in trip here and ridden more prominently. He had no trouble adapting to this shorter trip and, picking up nicely when sent about his job, was never going to be beaten. He doesn't look like a sprinter, but clearly has bags of natural ability. Having won at Yarmouth off 75,and here off 84, he can now expect to be raised into the low-90s. It would take a brave man to say he can not win again off his revised mark.

Malcheek has yet to strike top form. Obe Brave showed bags of foot on his first run for four months, but faded in the closing stages.
