Port Ronan led until 2f out, weakened inside final furlong

Tee Gee Cee rear-division, headway over 2f out, stayed on inside final furlong

Shaker Style mid-division, headway over 2f out, hung left and kept on

Clerical chased leaders, outpaced over 2f out, soon weakened

Ivor Novello mid-division, never on terms

Great Charter raced wide, with leaders, soon driven along, weakened 2f out

Huxaar slowly into stride, always outpaced and behind

Gemini Jive reared start, always well detached

Always Gunner dwelt, ran green and soon behind

Just an ordinary maiden. This was a good opportunity for the promising FAREER, who duly won, though not quite in the style of a long odds-on favourite. He still looked a little green and this ground may have been lively enough for him, but we'll knowmore about his potential when he races again.

Secret Venue, who, like the winner, had shaped well first time, did so again, making Fareer dig deep in the closing stages. His turn will surely come.
