This wasn't the most competitive Class 4 handicap on record, and it served to provide uneasy favourite SWOP with a winning opportunity. A grand sort, whose two previous outings were on the all-weather, had no trouble adapting to this quick ground and, having faced a stiff challenge inside the last, battled on well, without being given too hard a time. He can improve again.
Sam's Secret, patiently ridden, was produced on the outer to challenge in the final furlong, but, soon ridden, she did not see out her race quite as strongly as the winner. The first two came clear of the rest, headed by Harare, who travelled strongly behind the leaders, but who failed to pick up at the business end.
