Analyis of the race
A valuable seller, though whether it was a great deal better than a run-of-the-mill event, is a moot point. No matter, SMALLJOHN, dropped in class, made this race his own from over a furlong out and, given no chance to stop, kept on well for pressure.
Scenic Pass, who had shown some ability in maiden company earlier in the week, confirmed that impression in this lesser company, coming out easily best of the rest. Although well held by the first two, Musical Maze kept on well late in the day on her debut and looks sure to improve. Miss Xu Xia, comfortably beaten by Smalljohn on her debut, was comfortably beaten by him again.
