Managua tracked leaders, challenged over 1f out, ridden to take slight advantage inside final furlong, stayed on well close home
Jazacosta soon pressing for lead, slight advantage over 3f out, ridden 2f out, headed inside final furlong, kept on but always just held by winner
Perfect Citizen chased leaders, ridden 3f out, stayed on same pace from over 1f out
Pachattack slowly into stride, behind, ridden over 3f out, headway over 1f out, stayed on well close home but never going pace to be competitive
Muraweg in rear, ridden and headway over 2f out, kept on final furlong but never going pace to be competitive
Andhaar slowly into stride, in rear, ridden and stayed on from 2f out, kept on inside final furlong but never a threat
Pure Poetry slight advantage until narrowly headed over 3f out, stayed challenging until approaching final 2f, weakened over 1f out
Sam Sharp in rear until effort and not much room 3f out, and again over 2f out, sayed on final forlong but never in contention
Beaubrav slowly away, in rear, awkward bend 4f out and wide, ridden and some progress over 2f out, never in contention, hung right and weakened over 1f out
Shape Shifter in touch, ridden over 3f out and soon weakened
Ain´t Talkin´ chased leaders over 4f
Tightrope chased leaders until weakened quickly over 2f out
This was another solid effort from Jazacosta. On the evidence of his last two outings he looks like getting his head in front soon, and had no problem with the trip at such an early stage in his career.
Perfect Citizen fared best of the newcomers. This was a promising effort from one who should be better in time.
John Gosden has won this race with a couple of useful sorts in the past few years, while Benny The Dip finished second. The stable's representative this time was Muraweg, who does not look to be up to that level. He was settled towards the rear before plugging on at one pace. He was a bit immature on this first start, though, and should come on for the outing. Pure Poetry did not help his chance by racing keenly early on. Beaubrav kept on at one pace after missing the break and then racing wide off the bend. Ain't Talkin' was another to race keenly early on, while Tightrope dropped away late after racing with the leaders early on.
